Rastafari Pinnacle Song

In 1939 the Honorable Leonard Howell founded Jamaica's first self sufficient agro-industrial community in the hills of St. Catherine, at Pinnacle thousands of Rastas came together in an economic activity never before known outside of forced enslavement in Jamaica, amongst the agricultural goods produced at Pinnacle the most valued was Cannabis.

 

Verse 1:
Gong Guru ah di consciousness of I thought,
bare high grade up ah Pinnacle wi ah plant,
Mr. Howell left this precious land,
and dem waan tek it weh from di Rastaman,
dem waan jail wi fi wi cannabis,
and ah long time Rastaman ah deal with this.
dem seh wi ah landless criminal,
tell yuh straight and nothing subliminal.

From Kingston to Pinnacle, di Rastaman ah work miracle (repeat 3 more times)

Verse 2:
trodding from the East,
this yah man never cease,
Kingston is his heartbeat,
down ah Back'O'Wall weh wi seat,
wi trod onto Pinnacle,
he build the Kings tabernacle,
him teach us about Selassie I and the holy hill of Mount Zion I

Verse 3:
restore di Rasta land,
ah it ah di foundation,
remember groudation,
organize and centralize,
dem nuh waan wi fi sekkle,
ah bare eckle and jeckel,
give thanks fi di youth,
it is they who resolute.
